a little about me…
Hi, I’m Emily, the photographer behind Emily Reis Photography. I’m married to my best friend, mom to two little ones, and a storyteller who loves capturing the authentic and imperfect moments that make life real. I started shooting professionally right after high school at 18, but when I became a mom in 2023, I took a break to focus on my family. Becoming a mom changed how I see time. It moves faster than you expect, and it’s so easy to let all the precious little moments pass you by. That’s why I’m back behind the camera, to capture those everyday memories that often go unnoticed, but mean so much. My opinion is that everyone should have the opportunity to preserve their season of life, whether it’s the mundane or monumental.
I most often spend my days soaking in the beauty of family life in all it’s messy and magical goodness. When I’m not behind the camera, you can usually find me renovating our fixer-upper with my husband, baking, leading worship for my church, or hyper fixating on my creative hobby of the week. I’m also a big fan of a good vanilla honey latte, slow mornings, and spending time with my favorite people.

a few facts about me:
I need to be carrying a very specific brand of chapstick at all times.
I did musical theatre in high school and was cast as Belle in Beauty and the Beast my senior year, but never performed the show because of Covid.
My all time favorite movie is 10 Things I Hate About You
I never fully learned how to tell time with an analog clock and it still takes me an embarrassing amount of time to read them.
I’m slowly recovering from my irrational fear of bugs, so if one joins our session and I jump, just know I’m working on it.
